The Brooklyn Park Police Department has announced it is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier tonight. Around 7:20 p.m. on March 2, 2024, officers responded to 5849 73rd Avenue North for a report of a person with a gunshot wound.

At the scene, responding officers found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest. Life-saving efforts were made and the victim was transported to an area hospital. Although authorities searched the area, a suspect was not immediately located.

Brooklyn Park detectives responded to assume control of the investigation.
