The Metropolitan Police Department has announced an arrest in an attempted robbery on 12th Street. According to a media release, Third District detectives said a man had been arrested for an attempted robbery that happened in the 2000 block of 12th Street Northwest.

Around 1:01 p.m. on March 1, 2024, the suspect allegedly approached the victim and attempted to rob him. The victim attempted to flee, but the suspect followed him. The suspect allegedly threatened to take the victim’s property and assaulted him. The victim managed to get away and the suspect was arrested by responding officers.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 34-year-old Kevin McLean who is charged with Assault with Intent to Rob.
