The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest in a recent cat poisoning investigation. On February 23, 2024, SCSO received a report of an individual placing bowls of suspected antifreeze at multiple locations around the Sandy Beach Trailer Park which is located on South Main Street in Green.

An investigation was carried out by SCSO and the Humane Society of Summit County. A search of the park was conducted by agents of the Humane Society on February 29, 2024. No deceased or distressed animals were found.

47-year-old James M. Genovese was charged with Attempted Animal Cruelty of a Companion Animal, Attempted Animal Cruelty of a Non-Companion Animal, and Poisoning Animals.
