Memphis Police announce arrest of career criminal in double homicide

The Memphis Police Department has announced the arrest of a career criminal in a double homicide. Around 3:21 p.m. on February 4, 2024, MPD officers responded to the 2300 block of Douglas Avenue in regards to an unresponsive male. At the scene, officers found 33-year-old Decarlos Sanders with a gunshot wound. Sanders was pronounced deceased at the scene.

MPD said the preliminary information indicates Sanders was placed at the location postmortem. Around 12:20 p.m. on February 6, 2024, MPD found Ms. Labarbara Bryson’s Mazda SUV burned in the 2300 block of Douglass Avenue. Around 12:34 p.m. on February 6, 2024, officers responded to the 2300 block of Douglass Avenue regarding a missing person.

Officers were informed that Labarbara Bryson was last seen on February 2 and had not been heard from since that day. Around 8:36 a.m. on February 25, 2024, officers responded to the area of Jonah Avenue and Huguenot Street regarding an unresponsive female. 39-year-old Labarbara Bryson was found with an apparent gunshot wound and pronounced deceased.

Homicide investigators say they identified Michael Wolfe as the suspect. MPD said the preliminary information suggests both deceased victims were last seen with Wolfe. On February 27, 2024, Wolfe was arrested and charged with 2 counts of First Degree Murder, 2 counts of Murder in Perpetration of a Felony, and more.
