The Fayetteville Police Department has announced an arrest in the murder from 599 East Lakeview Drive on February 15, 2024. According to FPD, 19-year-old Gilberto Gordillo has been charged with Capital Murder and Attempted Murder.

The charges are related to the shooting that killed 18-year-old Christian Rodriguez-Barroso. Around 11:15 p.m. on February 15, 2024, officers responded to a shooting at the Lake Fayetteville Environmental Studies Center. At the scene, Rodriguez-Barroso was found deceased.

Multiple individuals were transported to local medical facilities with non-life-threatening injuries.
