Original Story – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating after a 3-year-old passed away at the hospital. According to CMPD, detectives in the Eastway Division responded to the scene of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon. At the scene, officers found one victim who was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

In an update, CMPD said a 3-year-old victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. No other details are available at this time.
