According to a media release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, its Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide in the 3800 block of Wilkinson Boulevard in the Freedom Division. Just before 12:30 a.m. on February 15, 2024, officers responded to an assist medical call at the aforementioned location.

Once officers reached the scene, they found a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other details are available at this time.
