Houston Police investigating possible murder-suicide after female victim found deceased on Fir Ridge Court

The Houston Police Department is investigating a possible murder-suicide after a female victim was found deceased on Monday. In a media release, HPD said a male suspect was found dead in Louisiana. The female victim was found deceased around 1:05 p.m. on February 12 at 24506 Fir Ridge Court.

At this time, the identities of the victim and suspect are not being released. The female is described as a 28-year-old woman. The suspect is a male in his 40s or 50s. Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brown and Detective M. Condon reported that officers in Louisiana informed HPD detectives that a male had fatally shot himself in their jurisdiction.

Louisiana authorities said the male had confessed to his family that he had killed his girlfriend in her Houston home and locked her son in a closet before killing himself. HPD officers and HFD paramedics responded to the Fir Ridge Court address where they found the 2-year-old child inside a bedroom.

The child was taken to the hospital in good condition with no visible injuries, according to authorities. The child’s mother was discovered in a separate bedroom and pronounced deceased. HPD said it appears the victim was beaten and stabbed multiple times.
