The Coos County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting at the Seaport RV Park. According to a media release from CCSO, several 911 calls reported a shooting at the RV park in Charleston around 8:10 a.m. on February 13, 2024. At the scene, deputies found 31-year-old Ian Cowan deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

The Coos County Major Crime Team assisted in the investigation. Law enforcement arrested 32-year-old Alyssia R. Nelson for Murder in the Second Degree. Nelson has been booked into the Coos County Jail. It is believed that Cowan and Nelson were living together at the Seaport RV Park.
