According to a media release, Howard County police are investigating two related fatal incidents in Laurel, Maryland. Just after 7 p.m., police responded to the 11200 block of Chaucers Ridge Court for a domestic assault involving two adults.

Once officers arrived at the scene, an adult female was pronounced deceased. A short time later, police responded to northbound Route 29 in the area of Old Columbia Road for a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. At the scene, an adult male pedestrian was pronounced deceased.

The driver was uninjured and remained at the scene, according to HCPD. Investigators believe the adult male assaulted the adult female at his home before fleeing into the travel lanes of Route 29 on foot and was hit by an unrelated automobile. The investigation is ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
