Buffalo Police Department arrests James White in double homicide on January 2

The Buffalo Police Department has announced the arrest of a 22-year-old Buffalo man in connection to a double homicide that occurred on January 2, 2024. According to BPD, an arrest was made on February 7, 2024. Just after 9 a.m. on January 2, Northeast District officers responded to the first block of East Utica Street in response to a shooting call.

At the scene, officers discovered two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second male was taken to a local hospital where he passed away. Homicide detectives say they initiated an investigation and identified a suspect.

22-year-old James White has been charged with two counts of Murder in the Second Degree. The victims have been identified as 24-year-old John Gibson and 29-year-old David Honer.
