The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed on Bell Road on Thursday night. According to a media release from MNPD, a pedestrian died after the 9 p.m. crash on Bell Road near Cane Ridge Road. It is believed that the man was trying to cross Bell Road from east to west when he was struck by a Chevrolet Equinox in the center turn lane.
Then, the man was struck in the southbound lane by the driver of a Nissan SUV who left the scene. The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Isaac Dodd. MNPD said that the 17-year-old driver of the Equinox said she didn’t initially realize she had hit someone and drove to a nearby gas station to notify police.
The 17-year-old was driving on a restricted license. There was marijuana in the car, but MNPD said she did not display any signs of impairment. The 17-year-old was charged with violation of driver’s license restriction, not having insurance and misdemeanor marijuana possession.
