A Vanderwagon man has been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. Today, it was announced that a federal grand jury had returned a superseding indictment charging Sheldon Carlton Daye with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. 30-year-old Daye is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and will remain on conditions of release pending trial.
The indictment alleges that Daye killed John and Jane Doe by operating a motor vehicle without due caution and circumspection and with a wanton and reckless disregard for human life on or around October 2, 2022. If Daye is convicted, he could face a maximum of 16 years in prison.
