The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has announced the arrest of a 20-year-old man in connection to a fatal stabbing. Around 10:45 a.m. on January 26, 2024, LVMPD received a report of a stabbing in the 3700 block of Palos Verdes Street. Officers responded to the scene and found a victim suffering from stab wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. LVMPD said the preliminary investigation led to the suspect being identified as 20-year-old Hassan Howard. Officers located Howard and took him into custody.

The Homicide Section believes that Howard and the victim were involved in an altercation when the stabbing happened. Howard has been booked for open murder with a deadly weapon.
