Albany Police arrest a man for a slashing incident at a store on Quail Street

The Albany Police Department has arrested a man in connection to a slashing incident at a store on Quail Street. Around 2:20 a.m. on January 6, 2024, officers responded to 212 Quail Street after receiving reports of a stabbing. At the scene, officers found a 25-year-old male with multiple lacerations on his face.

The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital for treatment. Detectives say they were able to identify 32-year-old Jaquan Williams as the suspect in the incident. According to APD, the victim and suspect had been involved in a verbal altercation before the slashing occurred.

Williams is charged with one count of Assault and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
