The Will County Sheriff’s Office announced in a social media post that it is investigating a homicide in Joliet Township. Around 4:27 p.m. on January 21, 2024, deputies responded to the Pheasant Run Apartments in Joliet Township for a report of a shooting. Deputies were informed that an unknown person was on the ground bleeding from the head due to an apparent gunshot wound.

At the scene, deputies began providing life-saving measures on the victim while securing the crime scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Crime Scene Investigators responded to the crime scene to investigate the homicide.
