The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating a shooting in a mall parking lot. According to APD, patrol officers responded to a parking lot in the 32900 block of South Fraser Way for a reported shooting around 5:51 p.m. on January 20, 2024. At the scene, officers found a 25-year-old male with serious, life-threatening injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

Aid was immediately provided, but the victim succumbed to their injuries. The investigation is in its preliminary stages. APD said early indications suggest the incident was targeted.
