Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 7900 block of Turquoise Drive in the Hickory Grove Division. According to a media release from CMPD, Hickory Grove Division officers responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon with injury at the aforementioned location just before 6 a.m. on January 19, 2024.

At the scene, officers found a female victim with a gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide Unit detectives responded to carry out an investigation.
