The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating a shooting in the Ballpark neighborhood that left a 40-year-old man injured. According to a media release from SLCPD, the investigation was initiated at 7:38 p.m. on January 19, 2024, when 911 received calls about a shooting near 180 East Kensington Avenue.

At the scene, officers found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. SLCPD said at least one bullet hit a nearby house, but no one inside the residence was hurt.

Witnesses informed officers that the suspect or suspects had left the scene westbound in a vehicle. No arrests have been made at this time.
