The Columbus Police Department has arrested a suspect in a double shooting. According to a social media post from CPD, officers responded to 710 Center Street, Piedmont Columbus Regional, after a person showed up with a gunshot wound around 8:17 a.m. on January 19, 2024.

The Violent Crimes Unit responded to the hospital to assume control of the investigation. According to CPD, the preliminary investigation indicated that a dispute took place inside a private vehicle around 13th Street and 12th Avenue. At some point, shots were fired.

Two people were injured in the shooting. One person is in critical condition while the second victim is expected to be okay. CPD said warrants were obtained for the arrest of Tiyanka Williamson. She was apprehended without incident and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault.
