The Chicago Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a fatal stabbing of a 33-year-old female. CPD said in a media release that 34-year-old Genesis Silva was arrested in the 2700 block of South California Avenue on January 17, 2024.

Silva is accused of fatally stabbing a 33-year-old female who was found deceased in the 2000 block of North Kimball Avenue on June 5, 2023. Silva is facing one count of First Degree Murder and one count of Murder Strong Probability Death/Injure. No further details are available at this time.
