Portland Police reopens Naito Parkway following on-scene homicide investigation

The Portland Police Bureau has reopened Naito Parkway following the on-scene phase of a homicide investigation. PPB announced in a media release that a man passed away after being stabbed in the Old Town neighborhood. Around 8:05 a.m. on January 12, 2024, Central Precinct officers responded to a report of a man who appeared to be suffering from stab wounds on Northwest Naito Parkway.

Once officers reached the scene, they found a male victim with serious injuries. Private security officers, who were already on the scene, applied trauma first aid. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. PPB said the victim appeared to be an adult male.

The victim’s name is being withheld until his identity is confirmed by the medical examiner and the family is notified. No one is in custody at this time.
