The Sacramento Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect for vehicular manslaughter. Around 6 p.m. on January 9, 2024, patrol officers responded to Freeport Boulevard and Potrero Way for reports of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. At the scene, officers found an adult female with serious injuries.

The victim succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. Officers believe the victim was riding a bicycle when she was struck by the vehicle. MCIU detectives have identified and arrested 64-year-old Antonio Fragoso for vehicular manslaughter related charges.

Fragoso was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on January 12, 2024.
