The American Canyon Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting earlier today. Around 3:15 p.m. on January 11, 2024, ACPD officers made a traffic spot for a code violation near SR-29 and American Canyon Road. ACPD said in a media release that the driver failed to stop leading to a vehicle pursuit that continued into Vallejo.

In the area of Souza Way and Gateway Drive, the suspect vehicle became disabled. When officers encountered one male suspect, an officer fired shots. The male suspect was taken to an area hospital. His condition is not known at this time. A second male suspect was apprehended a short time later.

ACPD said two firearms were recovered at the scene. The investigation will be carried out by the Solano County Major Crimes Task Force.
