The Seattle Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly stabbed a man before stealing his scooter. Around 10 p.m. on January 9, 2024, SPD officers located a 20-year-old male victim in the 700 block of 5th Avenue. The victim reported to police that he had been robbed of his scooter and stabbed several times after exiting a Metro bus near 4th Avenue and Columbia Street.

The victim’s injuries appeared to be life-threatening. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Police say the victim produced a pistol and fired multiple rounds at the suspect before fleeing north on 4th Avenue and east on 5th Avenue. The King County Sheriff’s Office helped obtain surveillance footage from the bus.

A man matching the suspect’s description was located near 5th Avenue South and South Holgate Street. SPD said the man was in possession of multiple knives and suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot graze wound. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
