The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide in the 2400 block of North Tryon Street in the Metro Division. Around 2:10 a.m. on January 8, 2024, Metro Division officers responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon with injury at the aforementioned location.

At the scene, officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Homicide Unit detectives responded to initiate an investigation.

At this time, the victim’s identity is not being released and no suspect information is available.
