The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Liberty Street. Around 10:22 p.m. on January 6, 2024, Sixth District officers responded to a report of a person shot at the aforementioned location.

At the scene, officers found a victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The victim’s identity is now being released at this time. No suspect information is available.
