Original Story – The Knoxville Police Department has announced charges against a suspect in the death of a woman at a Western Heights apartment. Homicide Unit detectives have obtained a warrant charging 26-year-old Reginald Depriest with first-degree murder in the death of a woman on Friday afternoon.

Around 4:10 p.m. on January 5, 2024, officers responded to an apartment at 1423 West Oldham Avenue where they found a woman unresponsive inside an apartment. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities say leads developed during the investigation led to the identification of Depriest as the suspect.
