Pleasant Hill Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly fired BBs through a business door. PHPD officers found the front door glass of Ace Hardware shattered on December 21, 2023 and January 3, 2024. Police say the suspect caused thousands of dollars in damage to the business.

On both occasions, Pleasant Hill Police say they determined that the cause was BBs. 40-year-old Joseph Gardemeyer of Brentwood was arrested on January 3, 2024. According to police, Gardemeyer allegedly shot the door with a BB gun because he was angry about Ace’s return policy.

Gardemeyer is facing felony vandalism charges.
