The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in an ongoing homicide investigation in the North Division. Detectives with CMPD’s Homicide Unit are investigating a homicide in the 5200 block of Swearngan Road. Around 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024, officers responded to an assault call at the aforementioned location.

At the scene, officers found a victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to a news release, CMPD apprehended a suspect at the scene and officers are not looking for any other suspects.
