Los Angeles Police asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in shooting that killed two and injured eight

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened around 1 a.m. on January 1, 2024. LAPD officers responded to a radio call of an “ambulance shooting” at 15th Street and Santa Fe Avenue. Upon arrival, officers heard gunshots coming from the area of Santa Fe Avenue and Porter Street.

Officers approached Porter Street where they witnessed a large group of people fleeing. The officers exited their vehicle and were directed to multiple victims lying on the street and sidewalk on Porter Street. Medical assistance was immediately provided. Multiple victims were transported to local hospitals.

A male victim and a female victim were pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities say the victims were attending a celebration at an underground party in the 2300 block of Porter Street. A dispute between unknown people led to shots being fired. An unknown number of suspects fired shots with ten victims being struck.
