The Wood River Police Department is investigating a stabbing in the 300 block of Marquis. According to the Wood River Police Department, the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on January 1, 2024. Authorities received a 911 call reporting a stabbing at the aforementioned location.

At the scene, officers found a victim at his residence. The victim was eventually transported to a St. Louis area hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives responded to the scene.

At this time, it is believed that the two people involved knew each other and this is not a random act of violence. Further details will be provided at a later time.
