74-year-old man cited and released at the scene following six-vehicle crash with pedestrian injury

The Juneau Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle collision involving six vehicles in the Costco parking lot. According to a news release from the Juneau Police Department, a man was driving a red 2006 Chevy Malibu in the wrong direction through the busy parking lot when he hit a pedestrian and several other vehicles around 2:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023.

The pedestrian was thrown onto the hood of the Malibu which also hit a red Dodge truck with enough force to total both vehicles. The Dodge truck spun and hit several other vehicles. The Chevy Malibu struck two more vehicles after it crashed into the truck.

The 42-year-old male pedestrian fell to the ground next to the vehicles. He was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment. He has since been released. Police say six vehicles were involved and two were totaled. Three others sustained significant damage and one sustained minor damage.

74-year-old Reginald W. Marvin was cited for Reckless Driving and Failure to Carry and Show Proof of Insurance. He was released at the scene.
