The Birmingham Police Department has announced the arrest of 43-year-old Dustin Stanfield, 33-year-old Joshua Guthrie, and 33-year-old Brittany Patterson. According to a social media post from BPD, David Nicholas was fatally shot in the 1400 block of Lake Lane on December 23, 2023.

On December 26, detectives presented the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office leading to warrants for Capital Murder (Kidnapping) and Kidnapping for all three suspects. Guthrie and Stanfield were apprehended on December 24, 2023.

Brittany Patterson was taken into custody on December 30, 2023. At this time, the suspects are being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
