Fairfield Police arrests driver of stolen vehicle who injured another driver in a collision

The Fairfield Police Department has announced the arrest of 32-year-old Samuel Vodden who has been booked into the County Jail. Around 2 p.m. on December 29, 2023, FPD received a FLOCK hit for a stolen vehicle out of Napa near North Texas Street and Airbase Parkway.

FPD officers observed the vehicle near the 300 block of East Tabor Avenue and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield leading to a police pursuit. At East Travis and Rayburn Court, the fleeing vehicle collided with another vehicle. Two occupants fled the vehicle on foot.

The passenger was quickly apprehended while the driver started climbing fences and traveling eastbound. After a perimeter was established, the driver was apprehended after emerging from a backyard in the 500 block of Arkansas Street.

The other driver suffered a knee injury due to the collision. 32-year-old Samuel Vodden was identified as the driver of the stolen vehicle. He was booked into the County Jail.
