Theodore John Bowser arrested for allegedly stabbing his mother to death

The Bend Police Department has announced the arrest of a 37-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his mother to death. Around 9:21 a.m. on December 26, 2023, Bend Police were sent to the 300 block of Southeast Lee Lane for a report of a domestic dispute. The caller informed police that someone at the residence had been stabbed. Within one minute, police arrived at the Lee Lane home where they encountered the suspect, 37-year-old Theodore John Bowser, who resided in the home.

Bowser was taken into custody. Officers entered the home and rendered aid to the victim, Bowser’s 60-year-old mother Rene Lynn Carlson, who lived in the home with Bowser and another family member. Bowser was taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree murder before being transported to the Bend Police Department for further investigation.

Bowser was taken to St. Charles Bend. Once he is discharged from the hospital, he will be booked into the Deschutes County Jail.
