The Portland Police Bureau is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that took the life of an innocent pedestrian. Around 5:10 p.m. on December 26, 2023, East Precinct officers responded to a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 1500 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue. According to initial reports, the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

A second vehicle reportedly hit the victim and that vehicle remained at the scene. The incident happened in front of Portland Fire and Rescue Station Seven allowing paramedics to reach the scene quickly, but the pedestrian victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The Major Crash Team responded to assume control of the investigation. All lanes of SE 122nd Avenue will be closed from SE Main Street to SE Market Street until the scene can be processed.
