The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide at the Dollar General at 2314 Warrior Road. BPD received a Shot Spotter alert around 2:30 p.m. West Precinct officers were informed that a person had been shot in the parking lot of the Dollar General.

Upon arrival, officers witnessed an adult male lying next to a black SUV suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire & Rescue personnel arrived at the scene before pronouncing the victim deceased. According to BPD, the preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was in the Dollar General parking lot.

An unknown suspect fired shots at him. Police say there is a heavily populated apartment complex near the Dollar General. The Birmingham Police Department asks anyone with information to call 205-254-1764.
