The Seattle Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting near Occidental Park with five gunshot victims. Around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, police responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of Occidental Avenue South and South Washington Street. Upon arrival, officers provided life-saving measures to gunshot wound victims at the scene.
Another 911 call came in minutes later about more gunshot wound victims at 2nd Avenue and University Street. Police say these victims had fled the shooting location. Seattle Fire reached both locations before the victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
There are five gunshot victims with non-life-threatening injuries. Four of the victims are men aged 25, 26, 27, and 34. One victim is a 25-year-old female. SPD said it appears there was a drive-by shooting at the close of the bars and nightclubs near Occidental Park. The five victims were outside on the street when they were injured by gunfire.
SPD said it learned a black sedan and a white sedan were possibly involved in the shooting. Both vehicles were last seen traveling westbound on South Washington Street. Anyone with information is asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
