Officers with the Sacramento Police Department were dispatched to the area of 15^th Street and 60^th Avenue on December 23, 2023, at approximately 2:15 a.m. to investigate a report of an individual lying on the ground.

Responding officers found an unresponsive adult male. Treatment was rendered but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following an investigation, officers believed the adult male was struck by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene.

The victim’s death is still under investigation.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim and make contact with the next of kin.
