The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a man after a stolen vehicle altercation left one person deceased. Around 7:47 p.m. on December 21, 2023, dispatch received a report of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Tree Line Drive. At the scene, responding officers found a male in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. An investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section suggests that the victim was standing next to a vehicle that had been reported stolen in the apartment complex. Two individuals approached the victim and confronted him regarding the stolen vehicle.

The victim entered another vehicle parked nearby and tried to leave the area. One individual who had confronted the victim previously pulled out a firearm and shot him. Detectives have identified the suspect as 51-year-old Christopher Hall.

After the suspect was apprehended, he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with a deadly weapon.
