The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office announced it was looking for 30-year-old Braxton Balsz who is wanted in connection to a burglary that happened this afternoon on Lindsey Road southwest of Colville. Authorities allege that Balsz broke into a residence and stole a firearm.

Following the break-in, Balsz fled into the woods leading to a search by law enforcement that spanned over several hours. Although the firearm was recovered, Balsz managed to evade law enforcement.

The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office believes he may have fled the area with help from a family member. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Stevens County Dispatch at 509-684-2555.
