The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office has announced that Elijah Potillor has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Potillor admitted he had previously been convicted of a prior strike offense, second-degree robbery in Shasta County in 2013. As part of his plea, Potillor will serve 30 years to life in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced in the Shasta County Superior Court at 2 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
Authorities say Potillor and his fiancé, 30-year-old Jasmyne Glasper, were arguing as they prepared to move in April 2022. They were alone inside while the victim’s son and Potillor’s mother were outside. As the victim, Glasper, attempted to leave, Potillor stabbed her in the back multiple times with a kitchen knife.
Glasper succumbed to her injuries.
