The Santa Ana Police Department arrested a suspect in a disturbing case after a 23-year-old woman was forcibly kidnapped before being raped. On July 5, 2022 around 9 p.m., officers with the Santa Ana Police Department responded to the 300 block of South Harbor where after a female victim reported being kidnapped and raped.
The 23-year-old woman informed police she had been walking home when a male suspect approached and asked her to hang out. The victim refused and walked away. The suspect reportedly followed the victim, knocked her down, and dragged her behind a business where he sexually assaulted her.
The suspect fled the scene before police were called. Special Crimes Section Detectives have identified the suspect as 57-year-old Segura Lemus of Santa Ana. On December 21, 2023, detectives took Lamus into custody and booked him in the Orange County Jail on several sexual assault-related charges. His bail has been set at $1,000,000.
