The Vallejo Police Department is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a male victim yesterday. According to VPD, dispatch received a call regarding gunshots near Broadway Street and Sereno Drive just before 10 p.m. on December 20, 2023. As officers were traveling to the scene, another call indicated that a gunshot victim had been found in the parking lot of a local hospital.

At the hospital, Vallejo Police Department officers were informed by medical staff that a male with at least one gunshot wound was transported by unidentified subjects. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Patrol officers checked the area and determined that the shooting occurred in the 700 block of Sereno Drive.

The Detective Division of the Vallejo Police Department assumed control of the investigation. The victim’s identity is being withheld until the next of kin can be notified by the Solano County Coroner’s Office. VPD said this is the 22nd homicide in Vallejo this year.
