The Santa Fe Police Department has announced the arrests of two suspects for kidnapping and aggravated battery. Around 8:30 p.m. on December 18, 2023, Santa Fe Police officers responded to the Speedway at 2829 Agua Fria Street in response to a report from Santa Fe County Fire Department personnel that a man was being dragged behind a Jeep with chains.

When officers reached the scene, they identified two suspects, 31-year-old Adrian Montoya and 22-year-old Jonathan Gomez. Montoya is charged with Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery (Deadly Weapon), Conspiracy, Tampering with Evidence, and DWI.

Gomez is charged with Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery (Deadly Weapon), and Conspiracy. The 50-year-old male victim was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
