Albany Police Department received a call from a victim of credit card fraud. The adult male victim alleged his credit card had been utilized to make purchases at a local store. The victim told police that his credit card was in his possession when the charges were made.
CCTV footage from the store revealed a man purchasing items with the victim’s credit card. The victim identified the suspect from an Albany hotel where he was working as a clerk.
Detectives executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, locating more than 100 documents and machines utilized to create credit cards. The suspect cloned the victim’s credit card.
The suspect was identified as Brandon Deon Williams. Detectives charged Williams with multiple counts of identity fraud and financial transaction card theft and fraud.
