Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Branch detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast DC. Around 11:56 p.m. on December 18, 2023, Seventh District officers responded to the 400 block of Brandywine Street SE after receiving a report of a shooting.

Once police reached the scene, they found a man inside a residence with gunshot wounds. Authorities say the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. At this time, authorities are not identifying the victim. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 202-727-9099.
