On December 18, 2023, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Hector Tangamasi-Shique following an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department. On December 15, 2023, HPD contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit in response to an alleged sexual assault of a juvenile.

According to authorities, an investigation by HPD and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that Tangamasi-Shinque sexually assaulted a child under 16 in Hackensack, New Jersey. On December 15, 2023, Hector Tangamasi-Shique was taken into custody in Paramus. He has been charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, and other charges.

He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in the Central Judicial Processing Court.
