The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has announced it has arrested a serial burglar. According to a news release from The Sheriff’s Office, Demetrius Murphy was apprehended and booked into the Montgomery County Jail for Burglary of a Building. Authorities say Murphy was wanted in connection with at least three burglaries at businesses in the I-45 and Rayford Sawdust area.

Detectives with the District 2 East Precinct say they were able to identify Demetrius Murphy as the suspect. A warrant was obtained for his arrest. Authorities alerted a local business of Murphy’s wanted status. On December 17, a store employee recognized Murphy inside the establishment and alerted law enforcement.

Murphy was taken into custody near the business without incident.
